time

Time.
How does it go by so quickly?
How does it fly by while sitting on the beach in Carlsbad?
When did Grace stop eating sand and start making sand castles? (note- below is a picture of Isabel.  She quit eating sand quite a few years ago)
When did these girls become brave boogie boarders?
How is it possible that Blake and I can carry on a conversation at the beach?  (something we have not been able to do for years)
Who are these girls with the long, lanky legs?
But the most important question of all...
Where has my bikini figure gone?

Could we look any more like tourists?

After leaving beautiful Zion we drove up to Park City for two more nights in the trailer.  I had to laugh at our new accommodations.  The sign out front said "RV Resort".  When I think of the word resort I tend to think of sparkling swimming pools, tennis courts, and a spa.  I wish they would just call it what it really is.  Trailer Park!

Trailer Park and all, we could not have asked for a better full day in Park City.  The girls loved the alpine slide and coaster.  We stopped by the Olympic Village to see where "J" broke her leg doing some crazy jumps into a swimming pool.  We also caught a glimpse of some ski jumpers practicing.  Isabel took a bunch of pictures of them.  Crazy stuff!  It is so much scarier in real life than on tv.  Look close or click on them to get a better view.

Wishing We Were Here

What more could we wish for?  14 kids, 6 adults, a sunny day at the beach, and loads of fun.  This is what we were doing last 4th of July.  Unfortunately, it was not in the cards for us to be back there this 4th.  Instead we are going to make the most of the 110 degree heat by swimming at a friends and hopefully watching some fireworks from the pool.  We miss you guys!  Happy 4th of July and hope CA and ID are cool!

Scavengers

Last weekend we headed up North for a much needed weekend in the pines.  I know it is only June but I'm hot!  Too hot and too cranky because of the heat!  Eric and Jan invited us over for an afternoon filled with a scavenger hunt, a cook out, and yummy homemade ice cream sandwiches.  The girls spent every waking moment outside (except Charlotte, who played inside with Eric and Jan's new kitten).  Jan planned out the entire hunt with maps, stories, and treats.  The girls even had to use a digital camera to capture pictures of wildlife.  The girls had a blast.  Thank you, thank you!  Thanks for treating the girls to such an adventurous afternoon and thanks for helping me keep cool.

I forgot.  Check out the picture of Charlotte with one shoe on.  She scraped her toe at the hotel pool and would not put a shoe back on.  Some how she managed to walk through pine needles and tall forest grass without injuring it any further!
